Devine Police Report September 1-7

September 1
3:50 PM – Complainant reported a suspicious black Chevy Impala parked along the Ciavarra Elementary fence. The vehicle had parked there three times during the day. All was okay; the subject was waiting for a spouse/employee.
September 2
6:00 PM – Complainant in the 400 block of Malone Dr. reported hunters shooting and pellets hitting the residence. Officer made contact with the hunters and informed them not to shoot near residences. All was okay.
September 3
12:10 AM – Vehicle was stopped in the 1300 block of Hwy. 173 for a traffic violation. The truck was discovered to have been stolen. A male subject took off running from the officer. Assisted by DPS and Natalia PD. Charges pending.
6:40 AM – Complainant reported his vehicle was broken into overnight at the IH-35/Hwy. 173 park and ride. The rear side window was broken out, the lock was punched on the door, and the hood was open and someone had attempted to take the battery. No items were taken.
1:45 PM – Complainant in the 500 block of Tilley Dr. stated someone was breaking windows and taking out screws from doors. Damage appeared old. Complainant requested extra patrols.
7:45 PM – Officers dispatched to the 600 block of Hickory Hwy. for a disturbance. A female subject was found to be in possession of heroin and was jailed.
9:02 PM – Officers assisted the Medina County Sheriff’s Office in trying to locate a male subject on CR 772 who called a crisis hotline saying he was suicidal and walking to the hospital. Unable to locate.
9:36 PM – Complainant in the 200 block of Zig Zag Ave. reported a gray pickup truck with a camper was driving at a high rate of speed and circling the area. Unable to locate.
September 4
11:29 AM – Officer dispatched to the 300 block of N. Davis Ave. in reference to a disturbance between a male and female. Parties separated. EMS checked out both parties. The male was dropped off at Devine Food Mart.
September 5
6:48 AM – Major accident in the 600 block of E. Hondo Ave.
12:33 PM – Officer assisted with a 56-year-old male patient at Sterling Adult Daycare who was unstable. The subject broke a window and was transported by EMS.
1:51 PM – Complainant in the 100 block of LC Martin Dr. reported a vehicle stolen. The vehicle was recovered by Poteet PD. The driver was jailed.
8:55 PM – Complainant reported an 18-wheeler broken down on IH-35 NB near mile marker 122 that was causing a road hazard. The 18-wheeler was removed. All was okay.
September 6
1:49 PM – Complainant in the 500 block of Pilgrim Dr. reported a theft by a male relative. Charges pending.
2:05 PM – A male and female disturbance.
3:08 PM – Officer was en route to assist Natalia PD with a disturbance but was cancelled before arriving.
4:00 PM – Complainant in the 100 block of Littleton Dr. reported that six students were on her property and she wanted them to leave.
6:45 PM – A 15-year-old female subject intentionally swallowed several pills in an attempt to harm herself. EMS transported the subject to the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio.
6:51 PM – Major accident in the 600 block of E. Hondo Ave.
September 7
12:45 AM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on Hwy. 173 and CR 5710. The male driver failed field sobriety testing and was found to be intoxicated. The subject physically resisted officers and was jailed.
5:38 AM – Alarm company advised a male subject on location at Chaparral Ford taking boxes from the service area. A MCSO deputy was coming from Castroville. No one at location upon officers’ arrival.
10:34 AM – Complainant in the 900 block of W. Hondo Ave. reported a debit card that had been compromised.
