Devine Police Report Feb. 9-16

Feb. 9
4:15 PM – Hispanic male wearing a black jacket and carrying a black backpack walking in the area of the 700 block of Gutierrez Ave. stating he sells DirecTV. Unable to locate.
7:25 PM – Officer dispatched to the 1200 block of W. Hondo Ave. in reference to a male knocking on a door. Officer made contact with the male, who was looking for a ride.
Feb. 10
12:28 AM – Stalled 18-wheeler on SB IH-35 near mile marker 123. Tractor was towed.
4:45 PM – Officer assisted DPS with traffic control for accident on NB IH-35.
7:20 PM – Complainant reported his windshield was struck by an unknown object while traveling westbound in the 600 block of E. Hondo Ave. The complainant did not observe anyone throw anything at his vehicle. Officer observed damage, took photos, provided the complainant with a written statement, and instructed him to obtain an estimate for the damage.
7:32 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 300 block of Ross Ave. Officer observed furtive movements and detected the odor of an illegal substance. Officer found 1.5 grams of crystal meth. One male subject was served two municipal warrants, cited for an open container of an alcoholic beverage and possession of drug paraphernalia, and jailed for possession of CS PG1 >=1G>4G with intent to deliver. Another subject was served with two municipal warrants, an Atascosa Co. warrant, a Frio Co. warrant, cited for an open container of an alcoholic beverage and possession of drug paraphernalia, and jailed for possession of CS PG1>=1G>4G with intent to deliver.
Feb. 11
5:50 PM – Verbal disturbance in the 500 block of W. Hondo Ave. A male subject exited the vehicle. Both parties separated.
9:50 PM – Complainant in the 200 block of Zig Zag Ave. reported an unknown male on location trying to get in the front door. It turned out to be a family friend.
Feb. 12
4:30 PM – Complainant advised the license plate was missing from the rear of her vehicle.
7:30 PM – Complainant in the 100 block of LC Martin Dr. advised that her 13-year-old son was out of control. Officers spoke with both parties; all was okay.
Feb. 13
1:21 PM – A male subject in the 100 block of S. Teel Dr. reported that someone took his spare tire out of his truck.
2:43 PM – Caller advised that a TxDot truck was broken down and wanted someone to check it out. Officer made location; unable to locate.
8:13 PM – Complainant in the 300 block of Renfro Dr. advised her brother was assaulting his girlfriend. Visible injuries were observed, and the male subject was jailed.
Feb. 14
4:38 AM – Complainant in the 700 block of Fay Ave. advised someone pulled into driveway and left something. All was secure; it was a relative.
9:39 PM – Complainant in the 100 block of N. Commercial Dr. reported a female family member breaking windows at the residence and making entry through a broken window. The female fled in a newer model smaller-type SUV before officer’s arrival. Pictures were taken and statement forms were left.
Feb. 15
10:10 AM – Local records check on a male subject and a female subject.
11:30 AM – A female subject reviewed video of her son speaking to the School Resource Officer.
12:09 PM – Complainant in the 1000 block of E. Hondo Ave. said her husband’s ex-boss came to her workplace the previous day and harassed her over her husband quitting his job.
12:56 PM – School Resource Officer spoke to Devine Middle School staff in reference to a student upset about the school shooting in Florida.
1:32 PM – Complainant at business in the 1200 block of Windy Knoll Dr. was the employee at location and was unable to make contact with employer about locking up the building. Officer made contact in the 900 block of Libold.
2:38 PM – SRO spoke to a student at Ciavarra Elementary who was taking items home from class. All was okay.
2:55 PM – SRO spoke to a student at Devine High School with a small blue baggie containing a brown substance. All was okay; the substance was Nesquik powder.
9:37 PM – Complainant in the 600 block of Webb Ave. reported a loud noise behind the house. Officers patrolled the area; all clear.
9:55 PM – The front door alarm went off at a business in the 600 block of E. Hondo Ave. Officer made location and patrolled the area; all clear.
11:37 PM – Complainant in the 200 block of W. Moore Ave. reported his electric breaker had been tampered with. Complainant observed two female neighbors walking away from the breaker area. Statements issued.
Feb. 16
10:30 AM – Male students at DHS exchanged words.
1:27 PM – SRO spoke to student at DHS about an earlier incident.
