Devine Police Report August 4-10

August 4
3:15 PM – Vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. The male driver of the vehicle was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
3:30 PM – Complainant at Harrison Supply reported a counterfeit $20.00 was used to purchase materials.
9:35 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on Libold Dr. was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The male driver was cited and released.
9:42 PM – Complainant reported a newer model black Dodge pickup truck speeding up and down Hickory Hwy. Unable to locate.
August 5
11:06 PM – Officers assisted the Medina County Sheriff’s Office with shots fired in the 3400 block of CR 5710. Officers assisted with scene security.
August 6
2:40 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 1000 block of E. Hondo Ave. The male driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
3:44 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on NB IH-35 near mile marker 123. The male driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
8:20 PM – Vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in the 100 block of N. Teel Dr. Two male subjects and one female subject were found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and cited and released.
9:05 PM – Officers dispatched to the 500 block of Hayden Ave. for a verbal disturbance between a male subject and his wife and daughter. Officers spoke to the parties and they agreed to remain peaceful.
August 7
1:53 AM – An unknown person used an unknown object to damage a window at Valley Mart #8.
9:24 AM – An 18-wheeler rolled over on NB IH-35. Unknown injuries.
9:36 AM – Officers dispatched for a disturbance between a male subject and a female subject in the 600 block of Libold Dr. All was okay.
9:48 AM – A dark Grand Am was stalled due to high water.
10:04 AM – A vehicle in a ditch in the 100 block of N. Transportation Dr. was stalled due to flooding. The fire department and a wrecked were paged out.
12:48 PM – A car was stalled in the roadway due to flooding. Subject got car started.
9:52 PM – Surveillance company advised two male subjects in shorts were opening several vehicles at Chaparral Ford. All was okay; the subjects were the owner and his grandson.
4:00 PM – Manager at Food King reported that several employees were caught stealing. Charges pending.
August 8
8:23 AM – Complainant in the 300 block of W. Moore Ave. reported that four fishing rods were taken from his front yard.
5:13 PM – Complainant in the 500 block of N. Teel Dr. stated she believed her purse was stolen on August 4 but cannot determine where the theft took place.
August 9
11:47 AM – An employee from Storage Solutions on golf cart and another vehicle struck each other. Blue forms were issued.
12:13 PM – Hit and run of a parked vehicle at Walmart.
2:00 PM – A brown wallet was turned into PD.
8:33 PM – Officers dispatched to Walmart for a female shoplifter. Subject was apprehended by store staff, and while being escorted to Asset Protection Office, the subject pulled a folding knife and threatened the employees. The subject was located in the parking lot by Devine officers and jailed.
August 10
11:43 AM – Officers removed a suitcase in the roadway on S. Transportation.
2:02 PM – Vehicle stopped in the 100 block of Colonial Pkwy. for a traffic violation. The male driver was cited for having an open container of an alcoholic beverage as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and released.
6:40 PM – A male subject was seen leaving Walmart with unpaid merchandise. The subject ran into brush property along Oak Hill Dr. Unable to locate.
9:08 PM – Vehicle stopped in the 200 block of S. Teel Dr. for a traffic violation. The female driver was found to have a suspended license and was cited and released.
