Devine Mayor spot up for election, plus 5 Council seats in Devine and Lytle

The filing period for the upcoming General Election opens next Wednesday, January 13 and runs through Friday, February 12.
Election Day is Saturday, May 1.
Filing applications can be obtained through the towns’ City Halls, though some may be closed to the public due to rising COVID-19 cases. Call the numbers provided for more information.
Devine
The City Council seats up for grabs include the mayor position currently held by Cory Thompson, the District 2 seat held by Steve Lopez, and the District 5 seat held by Debra Randall.
Note that Mayor Cory Thompson and Debra Randall, District 5 recently went through the election process to complete the remainder of the partial terms vacated by Mayor Bill Herring and Thompson’s council seat was filled by Randall’s appointment.
The Mayor position and Districts 5 and 2 are all two year terms which are finishing up in May 2021 and up for election. The filing period opens next Wednesday, January 13 and runs through Friday, February 12.
Applications to file for office are available at City Hall Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Call City Hall at 830-663-2804 for more information.
Lytle
Council positions currently held by District 1 Guadalupe Castro, District 2 Sam Cortez, and District 3 Laura Reyna are up for election. The filing period opens next Wednesday, January 13 and runs through Friday, February 12.
Filing applications are available through City Hall, located at 14916 Main Street. Call City Hall at 830-709-3692 for more information.
Natalia
The City of Natalia will host their annual election in November.
