Devine Golf Group awarded golf course management contract

The Devine Golf Group, LLC will take over day-to-day operations at the Devine Golf Course on March 16, following the Devine City Council’s unanimous approval of its contract proposal at a Special meeting held last Tuesday, March 1.
The management agreement is for 10 years with an additional 10-year option pending the written approval of both parties. In addition to the lease payment of $1.00 a year, the DGG will pay the City $1.00 per paid green fee and $2.00 per membership every quarter for the first five years, subject to negotiation. After five years, the DGG will increase payments per paid member to $5.00 each quarter.
Additionally, the DGG will provide the City with its tax return, Federal Unemployment Tax Report, Employer’s Quarterly Report, and Texas Workforce Commission quarterly report.

Charlie’s Daughter is still set to occupy the restaurant space in the clubhouse. Punch list items still need to be completed, but the DGG agreed to accept the clubhouse in a functional state rather than a turnkey one in order to speed up the facility’s reopening.
The course has been closed to the public since SG Golf Management’s lease agreement with the City ended on February 28.
A more detailed write-up of the meeting will be in next week’s edition of The Devine News. The archived live stream of the meeting is available on the City’s website at cityofdevine.org/live-council-meetings/.
The next Regular Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Mar. 15.
