City, school, BMA elections May 5


BMA Elections

BMA has three individuals running for the Precinct 5 seat – Dustin Navarro, Payton Bradley and Lorenzo Moralez. Early voting was from April 23rd through May 1st from 8 am to 5 pm at the BMA’s office located at 2401 Hwy 132 N. in Natalia. The polls are not open on Saturday. On May 5th you can vote at Medina Valley Church of the Nazarene, 745 S Hwy 132 N, Devine, TX 78016 (State Hwy 132 at FM 463, 1 mile North of Devine) from 7 am to 7 pm.
City of Devine Elections
Incumbent District 4 Councilwoman Kathy Wilkins is being challenged by Jennifer Schott. Only residents of District 4 can vote in the election.
Elections for the District 1 and District 3 positions were canceled because incumbents David Valdez and David Espinosa were unopposed. Both will be sworn in for new two-year terms after the election.
Early voting was from April 23rd through April 27th from 8 am to 5 pm, and April 30 through May 1 from 7 am to 7 pm at the City Hall located at 303 S Teel Drive in Devine. On Saturday, May 5th polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm at City Hall.
Devine School Board Elections
There are two individuals running for the District 1 School Board seat – Phillip Fitch and Yvette Gerlach.
In District 5 the election has been cancelled because it was uncontested. The new board member will be Dr. Keri Crouch James.
Early voting was from April 23rd through April 27th from 8 am to 5 pm, and from April 30 through May 1 from 7 am to 7 pm at the City Hall located at 303 S Teel Drive in Devine. On Saturday, May 5th polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm at City Hall.
