City of Devine to take over golf course for six months

The Devine City Council voted to take over operation of the Devine Golf Course for the next six months at a Special meeting held on Tuesday, July 31.
The City will operate the golf course with the intent to acquire all of the assets of the Devine Golf Association, which plans to disband in the face of insolvency. Day-to-day operations of the golf course are the responsibility and at the discretion of City Council.
During the lease period, the City plans to explore all options on the future operation of the golf course, including discussions with outside management groups.
