Child abduction report a false alarm

The Medina County Sheriff’s Office put out a plea online this past Sept 5 for a “possible abduction.”
A female was reportedly put into the trunk of a gray vehicle in the Medina River Subdivision located along FM 1343. It was later discovered that it was a false alarm. Rumors suggested it was a bad prank, but it was just a misunderstanding.
“This was not a prank. The caller legitimately thought the child was abducted but the family was just having fun with their children. It was perceived differently than the family intended it to be,” said the Medina County Sheriff’s Office.
The post about the possible abduction was shared by local people trying to help over 240 times on social media, and deputies worked quickly going “door to door” until they concluded it was a false alarm within just 2 hours.
