On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Matthew Gonzales was involved in a car accident on his way to work that left him pinned under an 18 wheeler. Rescuers rushed him to Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), where he underwent emergency surgery due to internal bleeding.
The family will be having a benefit plate sale with chicken, sausage, rice, beans and potato salad at Chuy’s Bar 2626 Hwy 132 Natalia, TX, on Saturday, April 6 at 12 noon.
His wife realized something was wrong when his boss notified her that he hadn’t shown up to work. Around 4 p.m., the family was informed of where Gonzales was.
The next day, Feb. 28, Gonzales had underwent more surgeries, including hand and pelvic surgery.
During his long recovery, he will be out of work.
