Arm wrestling with the Lord

A’Dell spent the whole Sunday mass, making sure my husband and I were holding hands. She literally picked my hand up and put it in his, and then clamped it together with hers. Kids are just so funny, but I guess it’s just a little reminder of how much she adores both of us and loves to be together.
Meanwhile, we all had fun making eyes at the cute baby sitting in the pew in front of us. I especially enjoyed watching two little sisters (one much taller than the other) arm wrestling while everyone held hands to say the Lord’s Prayer. I can remember doing that with my brother and sisters. I was much taller than them, and enjoyed pulling their hand and arms up to the utmost highest point while they tried desperately to pull our hands back down….it’s just one of the joys in life, torturing your brothers and sisters. It builds character, I always say. My sister would dig her nails into my hand, and I would hang tough as long as I could, making her stretch up as high as I could reach while trying to keep a straight face and pretending I didn’t notice her struggling. Hey, forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us!
Well, I guess it’s about time for me to announce, we are having another baby! It’s been 7 years since we’ve had a baby, and we are so excited. A’Dell has wanted a little sister or brother for a long time, and I wish we would have had one sooner for her, but I know she’ll be a big helper now…..most of the time, when she’s not torturing her little siblings!
And you know I can hardly wait to referee while A’Dell arm wrestles with her new little brother or sister in church. It’s funny when it’s someone else’s kids!
