Question: Why is the blood of Christ so significant?
Answer: According to the Bible, the blood of Christ is so significant because only by Jesus shedding His blood could we be saved. The blood of Jesus is what purifies and cleanses us from our sins.

The Bible says in Ephesians 1:7, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” Only because Jesus’ blood was poured out while He bled on the cross can we have our sins covered by His sacrifice. In the Bible, blood represents life, and when one sinned in the Old Testament they had to take a bull, lamb, goat or other prescribed animal to be sacrificed so that the animal’s innocence “paid” the cost of the person’s sin. Leviticus 17:11. Hebrews 9:22. The priest would take the blood from the animal and place it upon the mercy seat, where God’s presence dwelt in the tabernacle. Leviticus 16:14-15. Jesus came to fulfill the Old Testament sacrificial system. When He died on the cross He paid the final cost for our sins. His blood was pure, for He never sinned, so His blood is able to save us from our sins because God was pleased with the perfect sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. Colossians 1:19-22. Revelation 5:9. Jesus presented His blood unto God the Father in heaven allowing His sacrifice to cleanse all people who believe on Him. Hebrews 9:11-15, 24-26. Thank God for the blood of Jesus Christ which cleanses us from all sin! The Bible says in 1 John 1:7, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” Like the old hymn says, “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.” Have you had your sins forgiven? Has the blood of Jesus washed you clean? If not, ask Jesus to come into your life and to save you from your sins today. Romans 10:9-10, 13.
