8th grade Fillys sink Lytle

Macy Hein sets up Kennedy Duncan as Dylan Reyna and Aleyna Gerlach look on.

The Maroon 8th grade Filly team won in two games against Lytle, 26-24 and 25-9.
“The first game was a lesson learned,” Coach Shana Beaty said. “Lytle came ready to play with something to prove. My girls did not play on their level and it almost cost them the game.”
Offensively, adding the 3 aces were Martinez 2 and Pompa 1. They had 8 hits; Alvarez 3, Torres 2, Martinez, Yeats, and Hein each with 1. They also had 9 assists; Pompa 6, Geyer 2, and Hein 1. There were a total of 6 kills; Yeats 3, Duncan 2 and Torres 1.
Defensively they had 13 digs against Lytle; Herrera 5, Martinez and Crossland each with 3, and Duncan and Hein each with 1.
“The second game was much better,” Coach Beaty said. “We ran our offense, talked on the court, and improved on defense. They are still undefeated in district and I am proud to coach this group of girls!”
