Another Fall Festival has come and gone. We always look forward to those who participate in the cooking contest with their avocado entries. Below are the winners of the contest for 2017:
In the Appetizer division first place went to Carol Pirkle Culpepper for her Avocado White Bean Dip, second place to Stephanie Crossland with her Avocado dip and third place to Judy Murillo with Ceviche.
In the Entrée division Robby Cline won first place with Guac-Tastic Porker Spud, second place went to Carol Pirkle Culpepper with Fish Taco with Avocado Mango Chunky Dip, and third place to Georjean Burnell with Sausage Taco.
In the Dessert division first place went to Kayley Simplins for Avocado Icing on Cupcakes, Second place to Carol Pirkle Culpepper for her Avocado Coco Bites and third place to Brenda Fernandez for her A.B.C. Woopie Pies.
In the Leaf Dish division, Berta Flores won for her Chalupas (note, she did not use avocado leaves, she used cilantro as a leaf. Technically doesn’t count).
Also Marta Pastrano won for her Mini tacos.
