Young man inspires all

Jacob and Michelle Cashion and family are so grateful to Tristan’s 1st grade teacher Mrs. Julia Hoog and his school nurse Kellie Jopling for thier actions, going above and beyond to help provide the family with a clear picture of symptoms they observed, which ultimately led doctors to the discovery of a brain tumor and the emergency surgery this young man needed.

Cashion Family thanks teacher/nurse for actions that may have saved his life

This week we want to recognize an outstanding young citizen, Tristan Cashion, a first grader in Devine who recently earned his spot on the Honor Roll at Ciavarra Elementary, despite facing some pretty big challenges. Recently, diagnosed with a brain tumor, Tristan underwent four surgeries within a matter of six days. Tristan is now back at school, and is undergoing an oral chemo treatment.
The Cashions are extremely grateful for the support they’ve received from this amazing community, and shared how Tristian’s 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Julia Hoog, and the school nurse Kellie Jopling are truly heroes in their eyes.
