Psalm 84:10 “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”
I hope you are having a great week so far! Please pray for rain as we are in water restrictions and our land is mighty dry. While you’re praying pray for one another and thank God every day for the abundant blessings we receive on a daily basis. I encourage each of you to make it a personal goal to get into the word of God every day. Have you read your Bible today? Our question for the week is: “Where in the Bible will I find someone being roasted in fire!
Of the many ways people have been put to death over the centuries the crucifixion was probably one, if not the most brutal. There were other ways that men could put people to death that would be excruciating and shameful. One such instance happened to some men who committed adultery and spoke lies in the name of the Lord. Jeremiah 29:21-23, “Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall slay them before your eyes. And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah which are in Babylon, saying, the LORD make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire; because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours’ wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD.” Think about it!
