Sinkhole closes Westbound Hwy. 90

The sinkhole was caused by a broken sewer line.

The westbound lanes of Hwy. 90 near Hunt Lane, and an exit ramp from southbound Loop 410, remained closed on Wednesday after the collapse of a sewer line under the roadway Tuesday morning.
An update posted to the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon stated that SAWS hoped to finish repairs and lay asphalt on Thursday.
One westbound frontage road is open to relieve traffic, though drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.
Repair work is ongoing but has been slowed by poor weather.
Authorities shut down the area around 9:00 am Tuesday after the sinkhole was discovered.

Work to repair the sinkhole has been ongoing since Tuesday morning.
