Natalia schools put on lockdown as subject flees toward school property

Natalia schools were put on lockdown last Tuesday, November 7 after an assault suspect fled from a home in the 700 block of 7th Street and took off running about a block away from the school. The subject was soon arrested on school property in the wooded area adjacent to Natalia High School. The incident happened around 1 pm in the afternoon with the short foot chase lasting approximately 20-30 minutes.
Natalia Police Chief Gilbert Rodriguez explained, “We had a call for a disturbance which turned into an assault of the subject’s mother and sister. The actor took off running toward the schools, and after a short foot chase we were able to apprehend him without any further incident.”
