Natalia – Members of the Natalia FFA chapter traveled to Stephenville, TX, April 27, 2017, to compete in the state Range Competition Career Development Event.
Natalia FFA placed 30th in the Range contest. Team members included: Macy Henrichson, Jacob Jass, Elijah Quintero and Haley Schulze.
Additional members of the Natalia FFA chapter traveled to various locations throughout Texas to compete in several invitational events. These locations included: James Madison Invitational held in San Antonio, TX, Texas A&M University Invitational held in College Station, TX, West Texas A&M University Invitational held in Canyon, TX, Region II Wildlife Competition held in San Angelo, TX, and the Area VII CDE Contest held at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
Team members included: Floriculture team- Abigail Besa, Felicia Guzman, Julie Rivera, and Tori Wootan; Poultry Judging Team- Jacob Jass, Michael Martinez, and Elijah Quintero; Wildlife- Macy Henrichson, Haley Schulze; Range Team- Macy Henrichson, Jacob Jass, Elijah Quintero, and Haley Schulze.
Career Development Events (CDEs) build on what is learned in agricultural classes and encourage members to put their knowledge into practice. Approximately 14,600 students began the statewide tournament in 28 different events which reflect classroom instruction in technical, leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
The Texas FFA is the nation’s largest state FFA association with a membership of more than 119,000 active FFA members. Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources programs teach skills in leadership, career development and personal growth. FFA gives students the opportunity to practically apply classroom knowledge to real-world experiences through local, state and national competitions.
