McClellan throws no-hitter in Devine’s 11-0 Bi-District victory

In their first playoff game this season, MacKenzie McClellan threw a no hitter against Crystal City! The only run against Devine was after a Javelina hit a pop fly and reached on an error in the 3rd. Another error allowed the runner to make it around the bases and score. But Devine had an 11-0 lead at that point and would go on to win it 13-1.
Devine took the lead in the bottom of the first with 8 runs. It started with a walk to Jeanette Rios. Isellia Gutierrez doubles and J. Rios scored on the throw. Arieana Ramirez singled and Gutierrez scored, 2-0. McClellan doubled to left and Ramirez crossed home, 3-0. Megan Runyan walked. With 2 on Allison Taylor hits a home run over left, 6-0. MacKenzie Schneider doubled, Kelsey Dishman singled, and Schneider scored, 7-0. 1 out, J. Rios walks, Gutierrez doubles and Kelsey Dishman scored, 8-0. Devine added 3 more runs in the 2nd, and a run in the 3rd and 4th to win it 13-1.

Ramirez 1 single, 1 RBI, 1 run, 1 steal. Hilary Barnett 1 RBI. Gutierrez 1 single, 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, 1 run. Dishman 1 single, 1 RBI, 2 runs, 1 steal. Runyan 2 runs, 1 steal. McClellan 1 single, 1 double, 1 RBI, 44 strikes in 63 pitches.
Devine will face Robstown this Friday in Jourdanton at 7:00. The second game will be on Saturday at 11:00 and if a 3rd game is needed they will play Monday at 6:00. Robstown was 3rd in their district with a record of 9-10 and beat Port Isabel 5-4.
