Lytle welcomes new Financial Director; hires new auditing team

The City of Lytle welcomes Edward Eichelberger, who was hired to fill the newly created position for the City of Lytle.
“As our city grows, we need to be prepared for the financial demands it will require. The selection of our new financial director and new auditor will assist us in the transition and help us get caught up with our audits,” said City of Lytle Mayor Ruben Gonzalez.
The Lytle City Council met in executive session this past January to consider hiring a Financial Director, a new position they have been considering for some time now. Upon reconvening, Alderman Castro made the motion that Council hire Eichelberger as the City’s Finance Director and his starting pay be $65,000.00 a year with a probationary period of six (6) months.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Cortez. VOTE: FOR Motion-Aldermen Castro, Cortez and Reyna. Alderman Cate abstained. Motion carried.
CONSIDER AND ACT UPON HIRING AUDITING FIRM
Deborah Fazer, a CPA with Armstrong, Vaughan & Associates talked to Council about their firm. Mayor Gonzalez asked Ms. Frazer about the timeline and cost for the audit. Ms. Frazer told Council they can start the beginning of March and it will take 2 to 3 months to get info and give report at a cost of $20,000 for the first few years.
Alderman Castro made the motion that Council hire Armstrong, Vaughan & Associates to conduct audit for city at the price quoted by Ms. Frazer. It was seconded by Alderman Castro, and passed unanimously.
