In their home tournament, the Lady Mustangs dominated and kept the trophy at home. Under the leadership of Tara Cortinas, the Varsity team beat Knippa 2-0, Brooks Academy 2-0, Lytle 2-0, Dilley 2-0, and Sabinal 2-1 in the championship game.
In the Natalia Tournament, Senior Kylee Spangler and Senior Christina Fulton were named All-Tournament and Senior Angelica Padilla was named MVP!
The Lady Mustangs sit at 6-1 and will head to Devine this week for the Arabian Round-Up. In pool A with Pleasanton, D’Hanis, and Crystal City, the Lady Mustangs will play on Thursday and Saturday. On Thursday they are scheduled to play at 10am, 1pm, and 3pm but their games may start earlier if possible. Saturday’s bracket play begins at 9:00am. On Tuesday August 24th, the Lady Mustangs will face Marion in their first district game at home.
