Guadalupe C. Hernandez, of Castroville/Devine, passed away on September 14, 2017 in San Antonio at the age of 69 years. He was born December 12, 1947 in Castroville, to parents Dolores Jose Hernandez and Vicenta Castillo Hernandez.
Despite his disabilities, Guadalupe was able to work harvesting crops as a migrant farm worker. During the many years he resided in assisted living facilities, Guadalupe made many friends there that became his second family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolores and Vicenta Hernandez; brothers, Roman Hernandez and Leonardo Hernandez and his sister, Maria Jane Breimon.
Survivors include his sister, Maria Dolores Loeschel and niece, Diana Hernandez, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was Monday, September 18, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection was Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
