The March meeting of the Friendship Art Club will be Tuesday, March 12. The meetings begin at 10 AM. Members are encouraged to come at 9:30 for fellowship and coffee.
George Rodriguez, from Jerry’s Artarama, will present the program. He will feature new products available through his San Antonio store. Mr. Rodriguez frequently demonstrates the use of products and allows for audience participation. He has been very supportive of the art club and has offered numerous workshops as well.
Every Spring, Friendship Art Club offers student scholarships to graduating seniors interested in continuing their education in the visual arts. Scholarships are also open to students already enrolled in a college. Applications will soon be available.
The annual Art Show and Sale is scheduled for September 28. Proceeds from the drawing, a main feature of the art show, benefits the scholarship program. Three scholarships were presented last year to area students.
Club members meet Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 for art production and instruction. Visitors are always welcome.
