Claudia Gail “Gay” Crawford

Claudia Gail “Gay” Crawford ascended to celebrate the New Year on December 31, 2017 and enjoyed a heavenly view of an illuminating gala as beautiful and warm as her loving heart. She reclined in peace and comfort by her grandparents Alvin and Jimmie MacDonald, her mother Mozelle Ada Daniel (Borel) Crain, stepfather Doc Frank Crain, father Edward Borel, and in-law’s CD and Beatrice Crawford.
With the reflection of sparkles in her eyes and her ever-present graceful smile she gazed upon those rejoicing, celebrating and remembering her presence with her Burbank High School sweetheart, Soldier, Postman and husband of 55 ½ years Cloyce D. Crawford II (CPT, USA(Ret.)), two children Kenneth (COL, USA(Ret)) and Diane G. “Dee” Crawford, four grandchildren Ashlee and partner Brendan Kuiper (living abroad in the Netherlands), Correy, Caitlyn (Veterinary Student in St. Kitts, West Indies) and fiancé Case Harts, Christyn, and her first great-grandchild Mackenzie Grace!
Her smile and tender heart embraced everyone she met and her life’s passion for animals was always evident from when she grew up in Natalia, TX to when she gave her last stroke to pet the animals she loved on the ranch near Lytle, TX. Her grace and endless love through 19 family moves across the U.S. and to Germany (twice) made “home” wherever we were – now she’s at it again! She taught Sunday School at Lytle First Baptist Church for many years. Her presence will be constant as she lives on in our memories and what she taught each of us in life. Love one another unconditionally, be truthful, be faithful, and Forever Rely On God (FROG)!
We will unite with her one last time and will hold interment services at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Committal Site “3” at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
