Budget time in Lytle

A hot week in Lytle, the temperature that is…. not the crime scene. Your LPD officers handled 57 calls for service. Of those only two were reported property crimes.
Crime #1 – A Main St. resident reported that an air compressor valued at $100 was taken from his residence. Crime #2 – A resident of the Lytle Nursing Home reported $150 missing from his lock box.
Officers made three custodial arrests last week. Arrest #1 – Sgt. Hanson conducted a traffic stop on Main St. and determined the driver to be intoxicated. He (the driver, not Sgt. Hanson) was booked into the Atascosa Co. Jail. Arrest #2 – Lt. Dear / Cpl. Robison / Ofc. D. Lopez arrested a male on a deadly conduct warrant. This was from a case we had investigated where the suspect pulled a gun on the victim. The suspect was booked into the Atascosa Co. Jail. Arrest #3 – Sgt. Hanson attempted to stop a vehicle on Main St. The suspect fled, but then drove into a ditch. He was booked into the Atascosa Co. Jail on a felony charge of evading with a motor vehicle.
It’s budget time in Lytle, we already had our first workshop. The city has a good history of being in a solid financial position. Our city leaders tend to only spend what we can afford! What’s up with that? I guess they don’t understand how it works…. maybe they need to go up to DC for a while and take some lessons.
