Thirty-three teams and 312 participants in the varsity boys division and 32 teams and 271 competitors in the varsity girls division provided plenty of tight finishes and scoring races last Saturday in San Antonio at the FEAST Patriots Cross Country Invitational.

DJ Carlson Memorial BUST N BURN shoot,silent auction, BBQ event Sept. 8-9 in Devine

The 10th Annual DJ Carlson Memorial BUST N BURN will be on September 8 & 9, 2023, the second weekend of the month yearly, but will be hosted at a new location in Devine at The Farm, 2238 FM 2200 West, Devine just past the airport a ways.

Arabians 4-5 at competitive Seguin VB Tournament

A bunch of games in a relatively short amount of time has the Arabians sitting at 17-11 on the season with a little over a week until District 29-4A action is served up against Uvalde. Devine has played the most competitive schedule possible as they prepare to make a run at not only a district championship, but subsequent playoff championships as well.

Devine school board asks voters for VATRE Tax rate and $11.2 Million bond, election Nov. 7

At its monthly meeting Monday, August 21, DISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to call for a $11.255 million bond election and a voter-approval tax ratification election (VATRE) for Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Responsibility for chemical inventory and bill at golf course still in question

By a 3-2 vote, the Devine City Council rejected a motion to release the management group previously in charge of the city golf course from responsibility for an outstanding balance of $36,000 due for lawn chemicals.
