Help celebrate Joyce Crutchfield’s 100th birthday this Saturday, Sept. 2 from 1-3 pm.


Life long Devine resident Joyce Crutchfield will celebrate her 100 year birthday this Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023 at the First Baptist Church. Friends and Family and those who would like to wish her well are invited to the Church Fellowship Hall this Saturday, September 2nd from 1-3pm.
Joyce Crutchfield has two daughters Joan Powe and Janet Flory. She has five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren plus one due in October and six great great grandchildren.
Six Great Grandchildren. She grew up in Devine with some time spent in Black Creek. She was a member and Sunday school teacher and vacation bible school teacher at First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Devine Chamber of Commerce for many years.
Joyce started the Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio in 1962 and stayed in business at 809 W. Hondo Avenue, Devine for over 40 years. She helped a friend start a successful Merle Norman Franchise in Hondo and another in Carrizo Springs.
During her years as a Merle Norman Studio owner Joyce helped many of the Jr. Miss contestants with their make-up at the school. She would also go to the school for make-up classes.
For many years she decorated her car and participated in the Clean Town Parade or what we know today as the Devine Fall Festival parade.
