Getting cooler finally…could be (for those of you who read last week’s edition) cause Lewis Stroud had a meeting with the Pope. Or, it could be because it is that time of year. And, no, it is not because of global warming. Global warming is a farce being force fed to the populace to further an agenda that is ultimately designed to make the American people compliant with the will of the Federal Government. Kinda early to rant ain’t it?

Looking Past the Hot and Dry
From time to time in the Tales I scribble, and the kind Ms. K. Holder allows to be published, I reference one of the “sayings” that was used in the Rosenauer Clan back when I was a child. For the Record, that was a LONG time ago! Some have hung around and I am recalling one today. While working long and hard, as most farmers did and STILL do, my Grand Dad would sometimes say:
It has begun
My week was pretty quiet, it was one of those weeks that you have your days mixed up because Monday was a holiday. In fact, I thought Monday was Sunday and called my daughter asking if she was making a big dinner for a friend, her reply: “No Mom, it’s Monday”, my reply was: “Oops”. The week pretty much stayed that way. Workshop on Tuesday, and then gift shop on Wednesday, and on Saturday, my sister and I went to Victoria to do a little shopping, our main stop was at Hobby Lobby as she was looking for flowers.
Lytle PD weekly dose…
Ready for your weekly dose of Lytle P.D. activity? For the week ending Sept. 10, 2023: Officers handled 67 calls for service and conducted 59 traffic stops. Of those 59 stops, 30 resulted in a citation and 29 were warnings.
Talking to Sprinkles
We celebrated a couple of birthdays this weekend, and much to my son’s delight, there were two cakes. He spent most of his time hovering over the one with lots of colorful sprinkles. I won’t lie; the creamy white icing covered in pink, yellow, blue, and red sprinkles is quite enticing.
What really cracked me up is when I saw my little boy hunched over in a chair at the kitchen table, looking down at the sprinkles on the cake. He looked like he was counting the sprinkles, but instead he was saying “I love you and I love you and I love you” as he tried to decide which sprinkle he wanted to eat first. Only a child could be that passionate about sprinkles! Sprinkles are pretty awesome.
I already know I will miss these days. I was telling my little boy as I cuddled him, “Someday you’ll be too big for me to hold you.”
He responded with “Don’t worry, I will hold you.” What a sweetheart he is.
