Thompson wins Devine City Council seat

Cory Thompson handily defeated incumbent Hal Lance and fellow challenger Kevin Hicks in the District 5 election last Saturday.
The official results show that Thompson won by a wide margin.

Citizens voice concerns about asbestos levels in City water

The City of Devine has been battling negative perceptions of the water supply since seeing spikes in asbestos levels in 2016.

Refugio Rodriguez, Jr., a representative from the Texas Rural Water Association (TRWA) addressed 14 Devine residents concerned about asbestos levels in the City’s drinking water in a public meeting last Tuesday, May 2.

Campos to throw Discus in Austin May 12

Arabian Stephanie Campos punched her ticket to State in discus with a throw of 127’4″ which was good enough for 2nd place. The State meet is May 12.
