Lytle Police Report Oct. 12-18

Oct. 12
1:20 AM – Officer responded to FM 2790 and N Prairie St. at RR Crossings for a report of the RR Crossing arms malfunctioning. Officer contacted UPRR to report the problem.
8:35 AM – Officer responded to 15300 Blk. of Houston St. for a report of a natural death.
4:05 PM – Officers responded to Main St. for a report of a reckless driver in a Silver Dodge Dakota. Officers search the area, unable to locate.
4:46 PM – Officers responded to Certified Truck & Auto Repair for a report of a suspicious vehicle with three males circling the business. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. Extra patrols requested.
8:13 PM – Officer responded to HEB Plus for a report of three suspicious males in the store following a customer. Officer checked the area, unable to locate.
10:00 PM – Officer responded to General Dollar to unlock a vehicle.
Oct. 13
3:55 AM – Officer responded to 16000 Blk. of Lake Wind Dr. for a report of suspicious noises coming from inside the garage. A search was conducted and it turned out to be a raccoon. The garage door was opened and the raccoon departed.
8:50 AM – Officer responded to N. Prairie St. at Railroad Str. for a report of the RR crossing arms malfunctioning. Officer contacted UPRR to report the problem.
9:37 AM – Officer responded to IH 35 Access Road at FM 2790 for a report of a two vehicle crash.
2:08 PM – Officer responded to HEB Plus to unlock a vehicle.
2:23 PM – Officer responded to HEB Plus for a report of a two vehicle crash.
4:02 PM – Officer responded to Pecan Grove Apartments for a report of shots fired.
5:45 PM – Officer was following up on the earlier report of shots fired at the Pecan Grove Apartments. New information resulted in the discovery of 2 bullet holes in the fence in the front east side of the apartments.
6:24 PM – Officer responded to Lytle Apartments for a report of a suspicious person. A man going door to door in an AT&T shirt. After speaking to the person, it was discovered he worked for AT&T/DirecTV.
6:57 PM – Officers responded to Hwy. 132 to assist Medina Co. with an active pursuit. Officers were canceled before arriving.
8:12 PM – Officers responded to HEB Plus for a report of a theft by a male subject. Officers made contact with the store manager and discovered the subject fled in a white pickup truck. Total estimated loss was less than $100.
9:33 PM – Officers responded to 19600 Blk. of Gray St. for a report of a road rage. The complainant reported another vehicle was brake checking and following her. Officers located the suspected vehicle and discovered an alcoholic beverage in the front cup holder. A 19-year-old male subject was identified as the driver and was cited for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
Oct. 14
3:09 AM – Officers responded to 20100 Blk. of IH 35 Frontage Road for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officer made contact with a suspicious vehicle at the Community National Bank. The driver stated he was feeling sick on the highway and needed somewhere to pull over.
8:00 AM – Officer was contacted by a resident at Blume Dr. and FM 2790 that a Trump campaign sign had been stolen from his front yard.
11:45 AM – Complainant stopped by the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to credit/debit card abuse occurring at the Pumphouse Carwash.
1:10 PM – Complainant stopped by the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be from Social Security Administration. The caller stated the complainant needed to pay $500 because someone was using her social security card. Officer overheard the conversation and the caller started to get upset with the complainant. When the officer spoke with the caller he became upset and quit speaking.
Oct. 15
2:45 AM – Officer responded to 14500 Blk. of Chance St. for a welfare check on a 911 hang up call. Officers discovered it was an accident.
9:38 AM – Officer responded to 19600 Blk. of Gray St. for a report of a civil matter, damage done to complainant’s rent house done by the renters.
11:40 AM – Officers responded to 20000 Blk. of IH 35 in regards to a welfare check on possibly hearing a woman screaming from the rear of a box truck that was broken down. Officers contacted the subjects and got conflicted stories regarding their destination. No female was found at the scene. Further investigation resulted in the discovery of drug paraphernalia and several medication bottles that contained medication which is listed in the controlled substance. A 40-year-old subject was arrested on 2 charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 3 < 28g. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail.
Oct. 16
1:16 AM – Traffic stop at Main St. and N. Somerset St. resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old subject for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle. Subject was transported to Atascosa Co. Jail. The passenger, a 36-year-old female subject, was arrested/cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released.
10:00 AM – Officers assisted the public with fingerprints for a Trust.
12:12 PM – Officers responded to 15100 Blk. of Mesquite St. to assist Medina Co. with locating a suspect vehicle that was involved in a disturbance in Medina Co.
12:46 PM – Officer responded to 19100 Blk. of N. Bento St. for a report of a civil matter.
1:24 PM – Officers responded to IH 35 at Mile Marker 133 NB for a welfare check on a subject. Officer located the subject and provided a courtesy ride to Laredo St. and released to a family member.
2:00 PM – Officer responded to the Fire Station #2 on FM 2790 for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officer arrived and made contact with the driver who had pulled off to the side to eat his food.
5:45 PM – Officers responded to IH 35 SB at Mile Marker 131 for a report of a traffic hazard. Officers were unable to locate.
6:36 PM – Officers responded to 14800 Blk. of Lytle-Somerset St. for a report of a civil matter – child custody.
9:13 PM – Officer responded to Western Wear for a report of an alarm. Officer checked all doors and windows and found no signs of criminal activity.
9:47 PM – Officer responded to Hwy. 132 (300 feet South of the city limits) to assist Medina Co. with traffic control at a homicide scene.
Oct. 17
10:54 AM – While walking through the HEB Plus, officers were given a wallet that was found in the parking lot. Officers were able to get a hold of the owner who picked up the wallet at the Police Station.
3:23 PM – Officer responded to Yum to inform the manager that there is a City Ordinance in place that a business can be fined for allowing a customer to enter without wearing a facemask. A complainant reported they observed the signs on the doors of the business saying masks were not required.
3:25 PM – Officer responded to Pirate Express for a welfare check on the clerk. A caller stated that there was no clerk at the business. Upon arrival, the clerk was stocking in the backroom. All was okay.
6:45 PM – Officers responded to 18000 Blk. of Wisdom Rd. for a report of a stolen Rick Luna campaign sign.
6:46 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 N at Mile Maker 130 and 133 to assist Lytle Vol. Fire Dept. with a grass fire in median.
Oct. 18
12:45 AM – Officer responded to IH 35 for a report of gunshots in the area. Officer checked the area, unable to locate.
1:25 AM – Officer responded to 15000 Blk. of Mesquite St. for a report of a verbal disagreement between the complainant and the suspect. No offense occurred and the suspect departed prior to officer’s arrival.
3:20 AM – While on patrol on Main St. and FM 2790 N, officer encountered five minors walking near the intersection. Officer initiated a field contact and determined they were in violation of city curfew. They advised the downloaded an app on a phone and were exploring the city. A parent of one of the minors made the location and the minors were released to her.
4:35 AM – Officer responded to Best Western Plus for a report of a couple arguing in the lobby of the second floor. Upon arrival, the male was already in the room asleep. Officer spoke with the female who stated the incident was verbal and the disagreement was over drinking alcoholic beverages earlier that evening at a wedding reception.
8:59 PM – Officer responded to Camino Real to assist Atascosa EMS with a 30 year old female with chest pains. The patient was transported to Southwest General Hospital.
12:13 PM – Officer responded to Benton St. for a report of a train blocking the roadway. The train was stopped and was blocking Benton, Somerset and McDonald Streets.
1:45 PM – Officer responded to 15000 Blk. of Mesquite St. for a report of an Amazon delivery truck driving through the complainant’s land next to his home. The owner advised the driver not to enter his property.
4:00 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 Access Road at FM 2790 for a report of a male begging for money at the red light. The male asked to be returned to Camino Real Crisis Center where he was admitted without incident.
5:35 PM – Officers responded to IH 35 SB for a report of a one vehicle crash. A 25-year-old subject was cited for Open Container.
6:11 PM – Officer responded to Chevron to unlock a vehicle.
8:02 PM – Officers responded to San Jose St. for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area. Officers located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, all was okay.
9:30 PM – Highway Patrol Officers responded to IH 25 NB at Mile Marker 132 to assist Texas DPS with an incoming pursuit out of Dimmitt Co. Officers were canceled, the vehicle was found in Pearsall.
