Teams from all over South Texas graced the Arabians’ gym this past weekend for the annual Arabian Round up Volleyball tournament. On Friday, the teams participated in pool-play against some talented teams in Ingram (L, 25-20, 26-24), Antonian (L, 25-13, 25-21) and Crystal City (W 25-11, 25-20), going 1-2. All three matches were intense and competitive. The Lady Pirates showed they have the skill and talent to compete with any team.
The following day was bracket play where Lytle took on Hondo(25-21, 24-26, 25-18) in a nail biter three set match. After dropping the first set, the Lady Pirates fought back to force a third set but would ultimately fall after “small mistakes began to add up,” according to head coach Margaret McOsker.
