Lytle Police Report Nov. 30-Dec. 6

Nov. 30
8:15 AM – Officer released property back to owner.
12:18 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 at Mile Marker 132 NB to assist Atascosa Co. Deputy with a traffic stop.
1:32 PM – Officer responded to West Texas Gas for a report of an unknown person(s) who cut the catalytic converter off a 2013 Chevy 3500. Total estimated value $500. Unknown when the theft occurred as the vehicle has been at the location for two months.
3:06 PM – Officer responded to Dollar Tree to unlock a vehicle.
4:14 PM – Office responded to Sonic Drive-In to unlock a vehicle.
5:14 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 at Mile Marker 131 NB for a report of a reckless driver. Officer searched the area, unable to locate.
5:48 PM – Complainant called the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to her son who had been arrested and was not able to locate him. Complainant was referred to Atascosa Co. Sheriff’s Office.
11:14 PM – Officers responded to Lytle Fire Station to assist the public.
Dec. 1
2:55 AM – Officer responded to Best Western Plus for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officer searched the area, unable to locate.
5:35 AM – Officer responded to Pirates Cove for a report of an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.
6:19 AM – Officer responded to Bealls Parking Lot for a report of a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, it was discovered a trailer with a forklift had a blowout and the tire caught fire. The driver had extinguished the fire before officer’s arrival.
1:11 PM – Officer responded to Grand Somerset Apartments for a report of residents parking in the fire lane.
1:42 PM – Officer responded to N. Somerset St. at Live Oak St. for a report of suspicious activity. Two vehicles pulling up to a man in black with an orange vest. Officer searched the area, unable to locate.
Dec. 2
2:22 AM – Complainant called the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to a civil matter.
9:30 AM – Officer responded to 14900 Blk. of Adams St. for a welfare check on a vehicle parked with the driver’s door open. Upon arrival, there was no damage to the vehicle and no one answered the door.
2:02 PM – Officer responded to Community National Bank for a report of loose goats. The goats were secured back in the pasture and the owner of the goats was contacted.
3:59 PM – Officer responded to Pecan Grove Apartments and talked to complainant in reference to complainant’s husband breaking a no contact order from the court.
10:35 PM – Officer responded to Hacienda Jalisciense for a report of an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.
11:45 PM – Officer responded to HEB C-Store for a report of a burglary of a vehicle. An unknown person(s) removed a jar of CBD from the center of the console of complainant’s unsecured truck. Total estimated loss $32.
Dec. 3
4:50 AM – While on patrol at Gates Diesel Service officer observed a vehicle parked unoccupied blocking the entrance to the business. Officer also found two pick-up trucks parked at the business office and the interior light of the business were on. Officer found no sign of criminal activity.
11:43 AM – Officer responded to Lytle Mini Storage for a report of a unit that was broken into. Various items were stolen, sewing machines, knitting machines, table, musical instrument and tools. Total estimated value $7,600.
12:40 PM – Complainant called the Police Station and talked to complainant in reference to receiving nonstop callings from her estranged husband.
2:32 PM – Officers responded to FM 2790 N at Main St. for a report of a stop sign that fell striking the complainant’s vehicle. The complainant’s vehicle had a shattered windshield and dent to the roof due to the falling stop sign.
5:00 PM – Officer responded to Lytle Mini Storage for a report of a unit that was broken into. Several times were taken, an Ikea kids kitchen, coffee maker and a Shark Vacuum. Total estimated loss $425.
6:27 PM – Officer responded to 15100 Blk. of Cottage St. for a report of a suspicious man standing in front of a residence. Officer located the male subject who stated he works for a house cleaning company and that he was soliciting work. Officer advised him that he needed a permit to conduct business in town. The man agreed to leave.
8:06 PM – Officer responded to 19800 Blk. of Bruce St. for a report of an assault. Officer made contact with a female victim who stated her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her at her residence in Lytle and in her vehicle as she drove her ex to his residence. Complainant stated she had already reported the assault that occurred in Devine to the Devine Police Department.
9:06 PM – Officer responded to Pirates Express for a report of an alarm.
10:05 PM – Officer responded to 15000 Blk. of Main St. for a welfare check on an open 911 phone line at two locations. Officer spoke to employees and on one had called 911. Officer was unable to locate anyone else in the area.
Dec. 4
1:58 AM – Officer responded to 3400 Blk. of FM 3175 to assist Atascosa Co. Deputy after he struck a deer. Officers removed the carcass from the roadway, the vehicle was drivable.
9:04 AM – Officer responded to Community National Bank and follow-up on an open case.
11:10 AM – Officer responded to Lytle Apartments for a report of a welfare check on an elderly female.
1:15 PM – Officer responded to Two Sisters Floral for a report of an attempted break-in. Upon arrival, officer met with the owner showed the officer the side door facing N. Somerset St. loose, stating someone tried to gain entry. It was determined the striker plate screw was loose, no noticeable forced entry marks were observed.
2:05 PM – Officer responded to 18600 Blk. of N. Benton St. for a report of a suspicious vehicle between 1am and 2am the last two nights. When the resident approached the young driver drove off. Extra patrols requested.
7:14 PM – Officer responded to IH 35 at SB Mile Marker 131 to assist Texas DPS with a vehicle crash.
9:35 PM – Officer responded to 4400 Blk. of Main St. for a report of a welfare check, all was okay.
Dec. 5
3:20 AM – Officer responded to Taco Bell for a report of an alarm.
9:06 AM – Officer responded to Lytle Police Station and talked to officer in reference to a civil matter – child custody.
12:56 PM – Officer responded to Lytle True Value and found 3 people setting up conducting free COVID testing. When questioned, they advised they were asked to find small downs and do testing. When asked for more information of a business card they could not provide one. Subjects were advised to leave and forward all information in regards to the legitimacy of the testing sot that the city could coordinate and verify the company.
1:48 PM – Officers responded to 14900 Blk. of Adams St. for a report of an alarm.
2:42 PM – Officers responded to 15000 Blk. of Mesquite St. for a report of a disturbance. A civil standby was provided for the husband to retrieve his clothing.
3:10 PM – Officer responded to 15000 Blk. of Mesquite St. to unlock a vehicle.
6:01 PM – Officer responded to 15000 Blk. of Main St. for a report of a male in a black Mazda in her yard searching for a paper he had thrown out earlier when he was stopped by the Lytle Police. The male matched the description of the male subject in the disturbance earlier in the day.
6:38 PM – Officer responded to FM 2790 N at Main St. Railroad Crossing for a report of the crossing arms down and traffic driving around the arms. The long line of cars were advised to turn around and UPRR was contacted for repairs.
7:38 PM – Officer responded to 100 Blk. of CR 6841 for a report of loud music. The music was located at a party. The homeowner agreed to turn the music down.
8:35 PM – Officer responded to 63000 Blk. of Cortez Rd. for a report of loud music.
10:40 PM – Officer responded to Main St. at FM 2790 N and Twin Lakes – CR 6850 and followed a suspect vehicle that had evaded on 10/31/20 from Ofc. A. Lopez and St. Hanson. The suspect vehicle apparently noticed the officers and drove off at a high rate of speed.
Dec. 6
12:35 AM – While conducting a security check at Adams St. at Somerset St. officer found the interior lights of a box van were on. The hood was cold to the touch and the van was secure. No signs of criminal activity noted.
5:20 AM – While conducting a building check at the Washateria officer located an unsecure front door. Officer cleared the building and secure the door and found no evidence to criminal activity.
9:10 AM – Complainant stopped by the Police Station and talked to officer in reference to a civil matter – Child Custody.
1:00 PM – Officer responded to Martine St. for a report of a suspicious older model low ride suburban driving down the street. Officer was unable to locate.
2:24 PM – Officer responded to 18300 Blk. of FM 2790 to assist Lytle Animal Control with a loose horse.
3:55 PM – Officers responded to 100 Blk. of CR 6843 for a report of a verbal disturbance. The male was in a vehicle on the roadway with two women and drove away.
6:56 PM – Officer responded to Hwy. 132 N (just outside of the city limits) for a report of a vehicle vs. animal crash.
11:23 PM – Officer responded to 14300 Blk. of Railroad St. for a report of an assault. Complainant stated she was assaulted and punched in the head 4-5 times by her boyfriend at 18900 Blk. of Wisdom Rd.
