Natalia robotics team places at State

The 4th place trophy was brought home by Natalia’s Invention Team Hydrotech, consisting of Andrew Walsh, Priscilla Seaton, Sean Schroeder, and Anastasia Rodriguez. Their entry was a robotic low-water crossing system to provide safety for drivers in flooding conditions.

Thompson wins Devine City Council seat

Cory Thompson handily defeated incumbent Hal Lance and fellow challenger Kevin Hicks in the District 5 election last Saturday.
The official results show that Thompson won by a wide margin.

Citizens voice concerns about asbestos levels in City water

The City of Devine has been battling negative perceptions of the water supply since seeing spikes in asbestos levels in 2016.

Refugio Rodriguez, Jr., a representative from the Texas Rural Water Association (TRWA) addressed 14 Devine residents concerned about asbestos levels in the City’s drinking water in a public meeting last Tuesday, May 2.

Union Pacific closes crossing and road to Gusville RV park
