Devine High School students Trinity Spurgers and Adam Moreno were honored as Students of the Month at a recent Devine Lions Club meeting. Both are seniors at DHS.
Trinity Spurgers
Trinity is involved in many activities including power lifting, robotics, band and UIL Lit Crit.
“For my future plans I’ve applied and been accepted into A&M Corpus Christi for engineering and art. I hope to get a degree in both subjects and get a well paying job. I also plan on learning other instruments to play while in college,” Spurgers said.
She is the daughter of Denise Aguilar.

$11.255 million bond issue approved and sold by Devine school board

Issuance of $11.255 million in bonds in support of school construction at an interest rate of 4.23 percent was approved by a 5-0 vote of the Devine school board at its Jan. 18 special meeting.
Financial consultant Robert Tijerina of Tijerina Galvan and Lawrence reported to the board that the bond had been successfully sold the previous day. The funds will be delivered to the school district on Feb. 15.

Natalia ISD okays contract with education consulting company

The Natalia school board voted Monday to contract with Austin-based public school consulting firm Moak Casey regarding strategic planning for the district’s future.
