$500 bonus given to all Devine ISD staff as pandemic retention incentive just in time for Christmas

Devine ISD staff will be getting a $500 bonus just in time for Christmas, everyone including teachers, directors, custodians, aides, food service, support services, technology, bus drivers, grounds crew, administrators, administrative assistants, business office etc. as long as they have been employed by the district prior to the meeting. Only exclusion is substitutes.
In a special meeting last Thursday, December 3, the school board voted unanimously to approve a resolution establishing a COVID-19 Pandemic Staff Retention Incentive.
The resolution stated, “Devine ISD staff members have faced unprecedented challenges in providing safe schools and instruction to students in-person and remotely, both with synchronous and asynchronous instruction. It also pointed out that during the COVID pandemic staff members across the district have faced tremendous change as well as challenges that have brought additional duties an responsibilities.
A top priority for Devine administrators is to retain committed, experienced and skilled staff. This resolution is an opportunity to say thanks.
“Every District employee has demonstrated absolute commitment to the district and our kiddos during the Covid pandemic by taking on extra duties and responsibilities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment. Moving forward with a Covid pandemic stipend payment is a way to recognize their selfless dedication to our children,” said Devine ISD Superintendent Todd Grandjean.
