Devine branch of Salvation Army helps two more families in need; bell ringing fundraiser ongoing

The Devine branch of Salvation Army was able to help two families in our community recently, one who had been sleeping in a vehicle at the rest area in freezing conditions.
Leaders put them up for two nights so they could get affairs in order. Devine Food Pantry assisted with food, Salvation Army assisted, DMF Benevolence assisted as well.
“This is what Salvation Army is all about. Helping each other! We not only helped short term but gave them the tools to help themselves long term! Every penny raised here in Devine stays here in our local communities! We also help residents in Natalia, and a portion of Lytle,” said Devine Salvation Army Chair person Cindi Billebault.
“Our Red Kettle bell ringing is our only fundraiser for the entire year.We stretch our monies to cover all year. We help with utility, rent, gas vouchers for Dr appts.” said Billebault.
If a family has a life tragedy event such as a fire, Tornado damage, we assist with those as well.
If you haven’t signed up to ring and are still considering it, please reply in the comments below or call Julie Morse @ 830-444-1607. The last day is December 24!
Salvation Army has poured over $27,000 of loving aide into our community in the past financial year.
