A young man lost his life in a tragic crash this past Friday, February 29 in northeastern Medina County. Medina County DPS troopers as well as Castroville VFD responded to the accident on County Road 381.
The call came in around 11 pm after the 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup truck, occupied by one male driver, missed a curve and struck a tree.
“Our guys arrived to find the driver was slumped over and unresponsive,” stated Castroville Fire Chief Rick Lair. “They started CPR immediately and continued for 30 minutes, but we unable to bring him back.”
25-year-old Michael Anthony Ruiz, of San Antonio, was pronounced dead at the scene.
