Lady Mustang powerlifters who qualified for the Regional meet include Sophia Padilla, Meg Martinez, Genesis Perez, Dominique Banda, Jalesca Schorsh, Emily Wheeler, Hailey Manka, Bella Martinez, Angelica Padilla, Angelina Zapata, Julie Rivera, Sofia Almendarez, Gabrielle Munoz, Dezarae Perez, Jasmine Ramon, Jiselle Gonzales, and Hailey Manka.
A record 18 Natalia Lady Mustangs are Regional Bound, as they will depart this coming Wednesday for Edcouch Elsa ISD. This has been a record setting year when it comes to overall success, as the girls in blue are excited about their potential.
“Our girls went to work during the pre-season and all earned themselves a spot at the regional meet,” Natalia Coach Jasmine Vasquez said. “Expectations could not be any higher right now and we have had two great weeks of preparation.”
Natalia’s Bryanna Perez will lead the girls in blue into battle as she currently ranks #1 in the region in her 105 lb. Weight class when it comes to a season best 715 lb. Total. Her total includes a 265 lb. Squat, a 150 lb. Bench press and a 300 lb. Dead lift.
Two other Lady Mustangs come in ranked #2 in the region in their weight classes. Meg Martinez does so in her 105 lb. Weight class with a 650 lb. Total. This total includes a 260 lb. Squat, a 150 lb. Bench press and a 240 lb. Dead lift.
Gabrielle Munoz also ranks #2 in her 181 lb. Weight class thanks to an 895 lb. Total. This total includes a 410 lb. Squat, a 175 lb. Bench press and a 310 lb. Dead lift.
Other lifters who rank in the top 5 going in include Gabrielle Santoya, Dezarae Perez and Jiselle Gonzales. See the graph below for a complete look at where the girls rank, their weight class, body weight, squat, bench, dead lift bests for the year and total.

“We are excited to go compete for a Regional Title and the battle begins in the valley Thursday,” Vasquez said.
