Warhorses undefeated after six District games

Still undefeated in district, the Warhorses have two more games to go before they head into playoffs. Facing Hondo at home this Friday night and on the road Tuesday to Carrizo Springs, the Warhorses will have to work hard to stay undefeated.
Down 12-16 against Carrizo Springs at the end of the first, Kam Adams led the drive in the second to take the lead with 8 points along with Justin Contreras’ 4. Leading 31-23 at the half, Carrizo Springs made a drive but still trailed 40-44 at the end of the third. More strong shooting and aggressive defense kept the Warhorses on top in the end to win it 62-51. “Huge win on the road against a tough Crystal City team. Guys executed down the stretch in crunch time and pulled away. Great job on the defensive end and excellent job of rebounding.” Coach Paul Wells.

Pearsall was another great win for the Warhorses on February 7th. Winning 69-49, Kramer sank two three pointers in the first along with 5 points from Martinez, and 7 from Contreras to finish the first 18-18. In the second quarter, the Warhorses took control of the game to lead 32-25 at the end of the half. Burford made 4 of 4 free throws along with a basket for 6 points. Adams led in the third with 9 points and Contreras had 5. Burford again made 4 of 4 free throws in the fourth and had 7 other points. The Warhorses played aggressively and won 69-49/
