Warhorses steal game from Carrizo Springs

Facing an old district rival, the Warhorse stole the game from Carrizo Springs on Friday night. Winning 63-39, nearly every player recorded a steal and as a team had 18 points off of turn overs. As of Monday night the Warhorses are 6-10 for the season and opened district play against Somerset. They will play YMLA on Tuesday and Fox Tech on Jan. 26th. Brook Academy has canceled all of their games and Fox Tech is only playing Varsity games.
Opening the game against Carrizo Springs, the Warhorses lead the game nearly the entire time. Only trailing for a few minutes in the opening quarter, Devine was able to take the ball to the basket for half of their points. Weston Byrd, Matthew Madrid, and Mason Burford sank three pointers and the team made 16 of their 26 free throws.
“Kids put together their best effort of the season. Competed hard on both ends of the floor. Need to keep improving and getting better and believing in one another,” Coach Paul Wells said.
