Arabians open district with win

The Arabians were on a four game win streak after this wins against Hondo and Fox Tech last week. Beating a rival and a district opponent, the Arabians are now 11-5 overall and 1-0 in district. They will play in Pleasanton Friday night at 6:15, at home against YWLA (Varsity only) on Tuesday, and Fox Tech on January 26th.
Playing Hondo on January 5th, the Arabians were ready for the win. They came out sluggish but were still able to outscore the Owls in every quarter. “It was good to get the Hondo game in. We did a good job of moving the ball in the second half and that allowed us to get out and extend our lead at halftime. Defensively we picked it up in the second half as well. This game was a good tune up for district play,” said Coach Jim Sessions.

In their first district game, the Arabians traveled to Fox Tech on Friday, January 8th. “It was good to finally start district playand it was a bit unique in that no fans were allowed in the gym. I was a little worried about what the energy and intensity was going to be like when not playing in front of fans. Needless to say the girls did a great job of coming out early with lots of intensity and energy. They got off to a great start! Our defensive intensity was great and they really looked to get things going in transition. They moved the ball on offense and were aggressive rebounding the ball. The team had a huge 1st quarter and we never looked back. Everyone contributed to the big win,” said Coach Sessions.
