Warhorses come close in first district game

In their first district game of the year, the Varsity Warhorses have fallen to the Javelinas. Traveling down to Crystal City, the Warhorses struggled in the first quarter at 6-10 but rebounded in the second to close the half 25-16. The Javelinas fought back in the third and outshot the Warhorses 8-13. The score was close the entire fourth quarter but Crystal City held the lead when time ran out at 49-46.
Leonard Pompa sank a 3 pointer and a free throw for 4 points, Dalton Kramer had 4, Justin Contreras had 14 and made 6 of 7 free throws, Brady Cardenas 8 , and Cash Walker had 10 in the second quarter and totaled 16 in the game.
The Warhorses will face Hondo Tuesday night and then travel to Carrizo Springs Friday, January 25th. They faced Pearsall at home last night.
