Warhorse golf returns to familiar Apple Rock course for 4A State Tournament

Apple Rock Golf Course in Marble Falls does not bring out the fondest of memories for some of the returning Warhorse golf players. Devine had a rough outing in 2017 while playing the state meet on the same course that the 2018 version of Warhorse golf will play. Devine finished 12th of 12 teams last season but looks to climb the ladder to a more respectable finish this go-around.
Including the Warhorses, 6 of the 12 teams in this year’s tournament return from last year. Argyle (1st), Fredericksburg (2nd), Monahans (3rd), Texarkana Pleasant Grove (5th), and Madisonville (7th) join newcomers Andrews, La Grange, Perryton, Gatesville, Bullard, and El Campo. Region 2 qualifier and last year’s team champion Argyle is paired with Devine on day one along with Perryton from Region 1 and Gatesville from Region 3. Day two pairings are based on first day team scores.
On the #1 box at 8:50am, Carson Tilley tees off and followed by Noah Tumbarello (9:00am), Brice Champion (9:10am), Brandon Flues (9:20am), and Kyler Brown (9:30am).
