The Natalia Mustang Baseball and the Lady Mustang Softball teams saw their seasons come to an end in Guadalupe County last Saturday.
The Mustang Baseball team was overpowered by a very good Blanco Panther squad. Hot bats by the Panthers combined with errors by the Natalia defense resulted in a lop-sided 11-0 loss in four innings.
A full story will run in next week’s Devine News which will include game highlights, stats, coach’s comments and a look back at the season.
The Lady Mustangs on the other hand gave #9 Hallettsville a run for their money. After giving up five first inning runs, the girls in blue rallied back with a four run first inning of their own.
From there on out, it was a true defensive battle. Unfortunately, Hallettsville held on for a 6-4 win ending the season for a second straight year for Natalia.
