Warhorse and Arabians XC in Bandera on Wednesday

Devine’s Cross Country teams travel to Bandera to run in the Bulldog Early-Season Invitational for their first true meet of the season. The Warhorses and Arabians ran in a relay-style meet in Gonzales a week and a half ago.
“I am excited for the runners who ran their mileage during the summer to reap some rewards for their dedication to the Cross Country program,” stated Head Coach Khera Vay. “Most of the runners not only accomplished the goal that I had set for them at the end of last school year, but exceeded expectations. Because of that, those runners are in the best possible shape for a meet that is halfway through the first week of school.”
As for the remaining runners, this race provides a great opportunity to show time improvements built since July 30, the beginning of two-a-days.
Bandera hosts the invitational just on the outskirts of town at the Bandera City Park, which is located on South State Hwy 173 by the Medina River. At 4:30 pm, the JV girls get the running started followed by the JV boys at 5:00 pm. Varsity girls run at approximately 5:30 pm with the Varsity boys running last at 6:00 pm.
