Warhorse and Arabian 2020 track season underway

A great start to the 2020 track season for the varsity and JV Warhorses as well as the varsity Arabians as all three teams brought home the championship plaques from Pearsall this past weekend. The JV Arabians placed third in their respective division.
Getting to shake the rust off from nine months off from track competition and rack up a lot of hardware along the way is a great way to start the season.
“I was pleased with all of our kids, actually,” stated Head Coach Lon Cozby. “We have good veteran leadership among our runners and throwers who are showing the younger ones the ropes. I am looking forward to seeing each of the Arabians and Warhorses improve as we make our way through the season.”
Several athletes stood out as eleven members were recognized as top athletes in their respective division. For the varsity boys Christian Gerlach (3rd-28 points) and Lokey Aguero (4th-21) while varsity Arabians Neenah Guerrero (3rd-25), Aaliyah Terrazas (4th-24), Kennedy Duncan (5th-22), Avery Cruz (8th-18), Kristina Morales (9th-17), and Bailey Oropeza (10th-16) took six of the top 11 total-points places.
JV Warhorse Noah Fernandez was the sole member of the club finishing 4th with 20 points. JV Arabians Khali Key (5th-20) and Cecilia Martinez (8th-16) locked up two of the top spots among their competitors.
