DPS Troopers responded to a one vehicle fatal crash on Saturday, January 11 in Frio County.
The crash occurred on FM 1518 near Mile Marker 545 around 3:23 am. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragic accident north of Pearsall.
According to DPS, “The 2004 Chevrolet SUV was traveling northbound when it began a side skid across the southbound lane and rolled over multiple times. The driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle identified as Jesusa Rodriguez, age 42, from Pearsall was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Pct. #4 Lauro Flores. The passenger identified as Adriana Martinez, age 33, from Pearsall, and was reportedly transferred to Frio Regional Hospital in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing and all contributing factors are currently unknown.”
The Texas Department of Public Safety would like to remind all drivers to slow down and adjust to adverse weather and road conditions. Drivers should minimize distractions, don’t drive fatigued, don’t drink and drive, obey traffic control devices and always wear your safety belt.
