Team Tennis beats Medina Valley

On Monday, August 12th, the Devine Tennis teams faced Medina Valley in their first team tennis match of the season. Led by Coach Melanie Sostarich, the varsity and junior varsity teams played on a court with temperatures over 107 degrees. Due to the heat, the single games were played as pro-set matches and the doubles were best of three. Varsity Devine Warhorses and Arabians won 17-2

Caeden Alvarez and Mason Zenon 6-4, 6-3. Aidan Hildenbrand and Johnathon Gelinas 6-2, 6-1. Mixed Doubles: Brook Runyan and Jacob Barron 5-7, 5-7. Girls Singles: Brook Runyan 8-3, Laurel Spannagel 8-0, Bella Eilas 8-1, Karma Herring 8-5, Jojo Villanueva 8-5, Cameron English 8-2. Boys Singles: Jake Harrell 6-4, 5-7, 6-10. Caeden Alvarez 9-8, 12-10. Mason Zenon 8-4. Brian Schaefer 9-8, 7-5. Denton Zuercher 8-3. Aidan Hildenbrand 8-0.
JV dominated the court and won all nine games. The JV team tennis is made up of Danelly Rodriguez, Jordan Erxleben. Kylee Saunders, Corwin Flores, Victoria Nunez, Juan Flores, Clayton Brown, Brent Wilcox, Noah Davila, Kayley Carrillo, Kate Finto, Cali Gierisch, Andrew Kohlleppel, Martha Tovar,
Team tennis will face Bandera on August 27th and then in Uvalde with Kileen on September 7th.
