Seven Warhorses land on Academic All-State football team

Accolades for seven senior Warhorse football players rolled in late last week as Academic All-State football teams were announced. Student-Athletes earn recognition on a score based on their GPA, Class Rank, and their ACT/SAT results, which provides a combined minimum score for qualification.
Leading the way was Jacob Featherly and Geoffrey Seal who merited 2nd Team honors, while Colin Dishman, Xsavior Martinez, Robert Ramirez, Justin Rozier, and John Schnautz garnered Honorable Mention.
Head Coach Paul Gomez stated he was “very proud” of these senior student-athletes for their “hard work and dedication both on and off the field.”
Gomez continued saying, “These young men have excelled in academics while still competing at the highest level in football. During the week, these young men endured 8 hours of practice plus a Friday night game, not to mention the meetings and weight lifting workouts added to that. They still managed to succeed in the classroom at the highest level. These young men are a true definition of a student-athlete at his best! We are very proud of their accomplishments!”
