Rumaldo Gonzales

Rumaldo Gonzales, a lifelong resident of La Coste, Texas passed away in San Antonio on February 24, 2021 at the age of 76 years. He was born November 23, 1944 in La Coste, Texas one of thirteen children born to Jose Hernandez Gonzales and Lazara Lopez Gonzales.
In 1965, Rumaldo was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Staff Sergeant Gonzales spent seven months of his enlisted time proudly serving his country in Vietnam. After his discharge he returned home to La Coste and married his sweetheart, Irma Rangel on August 26, 1968 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Rumaldo and Irma were blessed with over fifty-two years of marriage, four children, twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Rumaldo was a civil service employee at Kelly Air Force Base. He retired from Kelly as an aircraft parts manager and expeditor. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and Medina Valley VFW Post #8134.
Survivors include his wife, Irma R. Gonzales of La Coste; children, Jody Gonzales (Teresa) of New Braunfels, Laura Gonzales (Chris Meredith) of Jamestown, Kentucky, Becky Gros (Herb) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Robert Gonzales (Sandy) of Kapolei, Hawaii; grandchildren, Karl, Melissa, Keira, Meghan, Macey, Kevin, Jacob, Nichole, Jesse, ReAnne and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Javien, Liam and Keighan; sisters, Maria Elena Lopez, Delia De Leon (Joe), Josie Garcia (Joe Frank), Janie Rodriguez (Efrain), Ofelia Garcia (Richard De Hoya), Margie G. Prado (George), Irene Sandoval, Aurora G. Reiler (Darryl), Rosemary Floyd; brother, Joe Gonzales as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Rumaldo was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Lazara Gonzales; sisters, Carmen Solis and Linda G. Nino; and grandson, Matt.
Public Visitation will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste, Texas.
